Freestanding European Oak Display Cabinet

We had a request to make a display cabinet for a kitchen. Our clients had a strong idea of how they wanted it to look so we went about designing something for them that would fit their space but be moveable in the future. This is the result.

Made in European Oak locally sourced from a sawmill in South Wales this cabinet was a bit of a departure from our usually cabinetry but we thoroughly enjoyed working on it.

The sides made with solid oak slats which are held together with perpendicular sliding dovetail sections. The back is made in a randomised way with individual band sawn oak strips. The colour variations add to the effect.

The stepped tenon glazed doors close onto the frame with miniature magnet blocks in a soft but satisfyingly positive way.
